Espresso Machine Brew Guide

Bold. Concentrated. Café-Quality Coffee at Home.

Rich crema, deep flavour, and intense aroma — espresso is the heart of café coffee.

Brewed under high pressure, an Espresso Machine extracts concentrated coffee in seconds, creating a bold and flavourful shot with remarkable depth. Enjoy it on its own or use it as the base for favourites like cappuccinos, lattes, americanos, and flat whites.

Precision matters — but once dialled in, the reward is exceptional coffee every single time.

Espresso Cup

Brewing Instructions

Step 1 — Preheat Your Machine

Turn on your espresso machine and allow it to fully heat up.

Run a quick shot of hot water through the group head to stabilise temperature and warm the cup.

Step 2 — Dose Your Coffee

Add coffee to the portafilter basket.

Recommended Starting Ratio:
1:2 brew ratio
(Example: 18g coffee → 36g espresso yield)

This is a great starting point for a balanced espresso.

Step 3 — Distribute & Tamp

Level the coffee bed evenly and tamp firmly using consistent pressure.

A flat, even tamp helps water flow evenly through the coffee for balanced extraction.

Step 4 — Pull the Shot

Lock the portafilter into the machine and begin extraction immediately.

Aim for an extraction time of 25–30 seconds.

Quick guide:

Too fast (<20 sec) → Likely under-extracted (sour, weak)
Too slow (>35 sec) → Likely over-extracted (bitter, harsh)
25–30 sec → Balanced and flavourful

Step 5 — Enjoy Your Espresso

A good espresso should have a rich aroma, balanced flavour, and a golden crema on top.

Enjoy it:

Straight as espresso for full intensity
With hot water as an Americano
With steamed milk for lattes, cappuccinos, or flat whites
