The AeroPress is a versatile brewing method that produces a balanced cup, ranging from espresso- like to filter coffee.
Equipment:
-
AeroPress
-
Paper filters
-
Medium-fine ground coffee
-
Filtered water
Method:
-
Grind: Use a medium-fine grind, similar to granulated sugar.
-
Heat Water: Heat filtered water to just off the boil (around 195-205°F or 90-96°C).
-
Add Grounds: Place the paper filter in the AeroPress and add the desired amount of ground
coffee. A general ratio is 2 tablespoons of coffee for every 8 ounces of water.
-
Bloom: Pour a small amount of hot water over the grounds to wet them evenly. Let it bloom
for 30-45 seconds.
-
Add Water: Pour the remaining hot water into the AeroPress.
-
Steep: Stir gently and let the coffee steep for a desired time, usually 1-2 minutes for a
stronger brew and 2-4 minutes for a milder brew.
-
Press: Press the plunger down slowly and steadily.
-
Pour and Enjoy: Pour the coffee into your mug and savor the rich, flavorful brew.
